In a world where the news is normally negative, I would like to tell you a story of a young student who needed a Village.
As most of you probably know, I run 2 companies, and yes, it keeps me busy. I tend to enjoy being busy.
The other week a School District contacted me to see if I could get blinds for one of their rooms and they needed it right away. I went in that day to measure the windows, and the room was very hot. There was a student with a disability and his Certified Education Assistant (CEA) in the room. They spend most of their day in this room and it was only May.
As you might know, getting most products can be challenging due to the supply chain. There were a lot of people involved in ensuring that these blinds were made immediately and were shipped out overnight from the US.
I would like to say a huge Thank you to Nikki Aust, who is my go to at The Blind Men Head office, and who went above and beyond. The other person is Ranjit O’Neill who works out of Vancouver for Graber Blinds and is our Canadian support. She ensured that Graber Blinds Head Office knew how important these blinds were.
I am honoured that the School District said that they knew I could get the job done, and I am so thankful for everyone who stepped up. It truly took a Village to make this happen.
