New Year

The past couple years I have been spending my New Years in Baja kiteboarding.  This year I decided to change it up a bit and stay home, the skiing has been incredible.

I was interested to see when celebrating the New Year started.  It has had a bit of a checkered past but according to Wikipedia in 1582 they decided that everyone should use the same Gregorian Calendar and date, January 1st.  There are still a few cultures that use a different date for their New Years.
