Is National Pharma Care Coming to Canada?

Canadian Maple Leaf 1200

It looks like we might be one step closer to a National Pharma Care plan.  Sun Life has commented in their Focus Update that the first tentative steps have been taken towards a National Pharma Care plan in Canada.

Two years ago around this time my Blog was on a Universal Drug Plan, the Blog spoke to the billions of dollars that the government thought could be saved in health care if people adhered to their prescriptions.  Adherence is a large problem with overall medical costs.  I have included a couple of my previous Blogs talking about a Universal Drug Plan, Adherence and the Cost to the medical system.

I will keep my eye on this, and as you can tell it has taken 2 years to get an Advisory Council together so there probably won’t be any changes in the immediate future.
