If you ask my assistant Carrigan, you will know that two words I find very frustrating to hear are “I Think” and we have added to this “I Believe”. Why do they bother me? When my clients contact me they want clarity, they want to know for sure that their expenses will be covered or in a disability claim they will be receiving a benefit cheque in this amount on this date.
What does this have to do with the NDP Government buying Private MRI Clinics? Someone mentioned that our NDP Government bought up all the Private MRI Clinics. I checked a couple reproable sources to confirm and they all came back with the same information. I have used Castanet, who has informed us that they purchased 2 MRI clinics in the Lower Mainland.
The reason this became important to me is that Empire Life is one of the Insurance Companies that will pay $500 towards a private MRI, if the insured is unable to get an MRI in a reasonable amount of time. Some other Insurance Companies have MRI in their coverage but only if it is not covered under the Provincial Health Care Plan.
If the government was offering lower wait times, employees would get in quicker and the cost burden would put onto the Government Plan, leaving more money for other Employee benefits. Hopefully, this will help our local region or maybe they will be looking at purchasing more.
If you would like to review your Employee Benefit Program to confirm if MRI’s are covered under your plan, please contact Glendinning Insurance Services, Your Resource Specialist.
