Should we be paying more attention to Pharmacogenetic Testing? Dr. Ruslan Dorfman from Geneyouin posted on LinkedIn an article called, “Pharmacogenetic Testing May Improve Drug Treatments and Shorten Disability Leaves“.
In the article it mentions that one in four primary care patients in North America is prescribed at least one medication that will cause an adverse drug reaction because of genetic variability in drug metabolism. Improved accuracy in drug selection and dosing, can lead to improved treatment compliance and earlier remission.
Let’s keep this conversation going. It looks like it can improve people’s lives and possibly save money.
