I would first like to thank everyone for their patience with our limited service last week. Both Carrigan and I are back full steam ahead this week and look forward to assisting you.
Some of you might of guessed, I enjoy meeting people, even if it is for a brief time in a line up or at a function. It never ceases to amaze me the intimate stories a person who seconds ago was a complete stranger will talk about. I was at the Salmon Arm, Roots & Blues concert on Friday night, I had the pleasure of seeing one of my favorite groups Michael Franti & the Spearheads. There were two instances that really stand out for me.
One was a lady that I commented that I liked her pants and the story that came along with the pants was very interesting. It included travel and her daughter who was dealing with Anxiety and how she is supporting her on the journey. The journey continues but she felt she had taken a step in the right direction.
The other one has stuck with me because of the words that Peter Comrie from Full Spectrum Leadership has said to me on several occasions, “Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.” This young man was from Europe and he asked me what I did for a living. I gave my usual answer, I work with Corporations on their Health and Dental benefits. His response totally took me by surprise. He said, “Then you are an Angel.” Do people in Europe look at insurance differently then Canadians or North Americans? I have mentioned on several occasions, for me this job isn’t just about selling insurance it is about helping people in their time of need.
I challenge you to go outside your comfort zone and talk to people you don’t know. You never know who you will meet and what you will come of it.
