Benefits Canada recently published an article that speaks to one fifth of employers have a formal strategy around employee financial wellness. My first response out of the gate is my goodness at what point are employees responsible for themselves? My next response is, would I have a happier employee if they had a financial plan and were living within their means?
I am currently going through a reassessment of my financial situation and what will my retirement look like and when will my retirement happen? Just recently divorced, means I will be working a bit longer to recapture some of the assets lost. Thank goodness I love my job and I have a healthy work life balance, so I am more than happy to continue to come to work. I have to say that even in the industry I work in, it is difficult to see the hard numbers and the realization that I need to do more.
I have recently partnered with Sandy McAllister who specializes in assisting both Employees and Employers to see a brighter financial future. She can help one prioritize their spending plans to provide security for today and the future. I understand that there are some Employees and Employers who won’t be interested in this process and that is ok. You never know when that one person and their family might be reaching out for assistance. At Glendinning Insurance Services we see healthy living far beyond the boarders of your job; we are here to help!
