A friend of mine always reminds me, “No facts in the future.” When I grew up as a teenager, society often considered people who smoked marijuana and hash as stoners.
In my Insurance career, I have come to know that Insurance Companies are very conservative. The fact that they have accepted marijuana and hash usage is a huge step forward and shows the broadening of their awareness. They have included, if you smoke tobacco, nicotine or e-cigarettes you will still receive smoker rates.
I have attached the announcement from Empire Life that speaks to the change. Almost all Insurance Companies have adopted this new policy.
