What is the definition of Cost with your Employee Benefit Program?
- Is it the premium you pay for the benefits?
- Is it that the benefits don’t cover everything and you have to pay out of pocket personally?
- Is it you and/or your employee’s time?
The first two are obvious and easy to assess, the last one most people do not take into consideration. I consider my time to be very valuable, not just monetary; but because I have no idea when it will run out. When I look at cost, I factor in my time and the value of it. I have found over the years, there are certain Insurance Companies that also feel both mine and the clients time is valuable.
Below is a small portion of an email from an Insurance Company who wanted to work to rectify the client’s experience:
I believe with you and I working together to identify what is happening then we will be able to determine how to move forward collectively.
Thank you for bringing this forward. I am sorry this has been your experience thus far but I a remain hopeful we will be able to improve your experience going forward.”
And they did.
