The LifeLine Hope-Love-Support

2016-01-23 11.48.23

A while back I read a book called “Half the Sky”, the book spoke of women in poverty around the world and the abuses they endure.  What I enjoyed about the book was when they spoke of the women who are turning oppression into opportunity for these women worldwide.

Suicide and Mental Health are also not sexy topics.  We are getting better at talking about it but we have a long way to go.

Much like the book Half the Sky, I would like to talk about a local woman, Liane Weber who is helping to save lives through an app called The LifeLine, Crisis Prevention and Awareness Hotline.  It is free to install on your phone through the app store and is available to everyone.

Description

The LifeLine offers support and guidance for those suffering in crisis and those who have suffered the devastating loss of a loved one from suicide.  The LifeLine also provides awareness education and prevention strategies to help stop suicides in all of our communities.

One touch dialing to 1-800-668-6868 HelpPhone from anywhere in Canada

I am writing about this in hopes that the word will get out that this app is available and it is free.  Also if mental health is your passion Liane Weber could use our help.
