Seriously, are you Blogging on A Marijuana Policy Again?

Marijuana_1200x

I would like to start my blog this week by correcting an error in my last post, Are your Middles Causing Conflict?  Lane Sherman’s email address is [email protected]

Why am I blogging on marijuana usage again?  Peter Comrie from Full Spectrum Leadership, attended a Workplace Safety Conference last week and half of the conference was taken up on Drug and Alcohol policies in the work place.  With alcohol they are able to test for intoxication, with marijuana and other substances they can only test that they are in their system not intoxication level.

Benefits Canada has put together an article that provides some Key steps to implementing a policy addressing marijuana in the workplace.  I would recommend getting some professional advise, because chances are you already have usage in your workplace.

Empire Life has a wording in their contract that provides up to a $4,000 one time usage towards rehab for addictions, it is called “Specialized Treatment Facilities”.  Addictions come in many forms, it doesn’t have to be limited to drugs or alcohol.

Employee benefits aren’t always about rate, it is important to understand the wording in the contracts my clients purchase.  Contact Glendinning Insurance Services, your Resource Specialist to review your benefit plans.
