I was raised Roman Catholic, in fact I went to a Catholic school for the majority of my life, wow, that explains a lot :). I am no longer a practicing Catholic, although I do feel that between my parents and the Church it has given me a good foundation to grow on.
One of my friends is Jewish and she said to me the other day, that she really enjoyed the tradition of Christmas, so they have a tree, presents and a big turkey dinner. I thought how wonderful is that, and isn’t that what this season is all about? Acceptance, giving and kindness.
So please don’t be insulted when I say Merry Christmas because it is my tradition and I won’t be insulted when you say Happy Holidays back to me, because I will know that it comes with the spirit of the season.
Merry Christmas everyone, or whatever this season means to you.
